Before making the leap into entrepreneurship himself, Mike held senior HR roles with two Fortune 500 companies (Shaw Industries and Mohawk Industries). 

He saw the difference that can be made in a company when you put a focus on building up a strong team of dedicated employees. Mike formed Bench Builders to bring that same game-changing impact to businesses of all sizes — to help you improve your Bottom Line by improving your Bench Strength.

Mike is committed to learning & growing. He has a B.S., Psychology from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and an M.Ed., Human Resource Development from Vanderbilt University. Mike is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). He is also certified to administer and facilitate DiSC® Profile Workshops and Assessments.

Rhonda Beard

Rhonda's experience aligns fully with the Bench Builder's mantra to help businesses of all sizes grow their bottom line. She joined Bench Builders after spending two decades leading HR teams & functions across multiple sites in small, family-owned businesses and Fortune 500 companies.

Rhonda has helped companies just like yours build stronger teams, improve their leadership, plan for succession, improve employee relations, and develop policies ensuring HR compliance. She is equipped to help companies through a wide range of challenges, including acquisitions, divestitures, rebranding, and reorganization.

Her education includes a B.A., Business from the University of Michigan, as well as being a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Mary Malek

Mary isn't afraid to jump in and get hands-on. She has helped build training organizations from the ground up — developing and implementing leadership, focused teams, and locking in technical training.

She is able to translate complex information and principles into pragmatic and easily-understood learning. Her strong graphic skills and expert use of group exercises makes training fun and interesting for your employees. Mary's experience includes a robust training career at Saturn Corporation that continued in leadership and development roles at manufacturing, warehouse, and financial firms.

Her education is thorough with a B.A., Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, M.A., Photojournalism from the University of Missouri, a M.Ed., Human Resource Development from Vanderbilt University, and she is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
